Avant Lendings is an independent online loan-request service based in Atlanta, Georgia. We built one simple form that lets U.S. borrowers ask for a personal loan between $500 and $5,000, then share that request with a network of third-party lenders and lending partners who may respond with offers.
We are not Avant, LLC or WebBank, and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by either of them. Our name describes what we do: help people move forward with a lending decision. It does not connect us to any lender with a similar name.
What Our Service Does
Our service collects one loan request and passes it to lenders who may be able to help, so you do not have to fill out separate applications on a dozen lender websites to see what is available.
You tell us how much you need, what it is for, and some basic details about your income and contact information. Lenders in our network review the request and decide whether to make an offer. If they do, you see the lender's terms, including the APR, fees, repayment term and monthly payment, before you agree to anything.
Approval, pricing and funding are always the lender's job; we handle only the request. A lender that makes you an offer is the company that would approve, fund and service the loan. Submitting a request is free, and you are never obligated to accept an offer.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make small-dollar borrowing easier to understand, so people facing a car repair, a move or a stack of card balances can compare real offers and choose calmly instead of grabbing the first option they see.
A $1,400 brake and rotor job or a $900 security deposit rarely arrives at a convenient time. In that moment it is easy to accept a costly offer just because it came first. We want every borrower to know what an APR means, what the total of payments looks like, and when a loan is not the right answer at all.
How We Make Money
Lenders and lending partners pay us compensation when we share a request with them or when a borrower is matched with or accepts an offer. Borrowers never pay us a fee to use the form.
That compensation keeps the service free for you. It may affect which lenders receive a request and the order in which offers appear. It does not change the terms a lender sets for you, and it does not change what our articles say. You can read the full details on our advertiser and lending disclosure.
Editorial Standards
Our guides and loan pages follow written standards: every payment figure is labeled as an estimate, every rate is shown as a range rather than a promise, and every article says plainly when borrowing may not be a good idea.
- Math you can check. Payment examples are computed with the standard amortization formula. Our representative example is $2,000 borrowed for 12 months at 24.99% APR with no origination fee, which comes to about $190.08 per month and $2,280.94 in total. That is an estimate, not an offer.
- Independence from compensation. Writers do not know which lenders pay us, and no lender reviews or approves our articles.
- No invented proof. We do not publish testimonials, star ratings, award badges or customer counts.
- Ongoing review. Pages are reviewed on a regular cycle and corrected promptly when something is unclear or out of date.
Meet Our Editors
Three editors write and review our content, each bringing hands-on experience from credit counseling, credit union member services or household relocation work to the questions borrowers actually ask.
Leah Castellano, Senior Personal Finance Editor
Leah has spent eleven years writing about consumer credit, installment lending and household budgeting. Before editing full time she reviewed loan disclosures for a regional credit counseling nonprofit, which is where she learned to read the fine print first. She edits every guide on the site.
Nadia Moreland, Credit and Debt Contributor
Nadia is a former credit union member-services lead who now writes about debt repayment strategy, credit scores and comparing loan offers. She focuses on step-by-step plans that a borrower can finish in an afternoon.
Damon Hollis, Household Budget Writer
Damon covers moving costs, emergency budgeting and short-term borrowing decisions. He spent eight years as a relocation coordinator before turning to personal finance writing, so his guides lean on real invoices and checklists.
Who We Serve
Our request form is built for U.S. adults who have steady income, a checking account in their own name and a specific expense in mind, and who want to see what lenders may offer before they commit.
Lenders typically ask that you be at least 18 (19 in Alabama and Nebraska), a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid Social Security number, and reachable by email and phone. Lender availability and terms vary by state, and not every applicant will receive an offer.
